SECTION V
Architecture & Ecology
Built form, nature, and the conditions for human flourishing.
Ecology and sustainability science now confirm what many traditional societies practised: the interdependence of water, soil, biodiversity, climate, and human well-being. This domain integrates ecological science, regenerative design, urban planning, traditional building wisdom, and biophilic design to imagine living systems that support both people and planet.
Traditional architecture—from Vastu Shastra and Feng Shui to vernacular building practices worldwide—developed responsive, climate-adapted, and culturally meaningful ways of creating shelter and community space. The goal is not nostalgia but practical wisdom: extracting actionable principles from traditional systems and validating them with contemporary environmental and social science.
